ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani on Wednesday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rural development and infrastructure modernization with the official flag-off of the Kayarda–Tasha–Masakawa–Dan Alhaji Road project in Lere Local Government Area.
The Governor, who recently commissioned the remodeled and fully equipped General Hospital in Saminaka, returned to Lere to launch this critical road initiative, describing it as a cornerstone of the state’s Rural Transformation Agenda.
Disclosing this via his X handle on Thursday, Governor Sani hinted that the asphaltic road project, will enhance connectivity, stimulate local economies, and help bridge the urban–rural development gap.
“Lere is Nigeria’s leading maize-producing hub and a major contributor of soybeans, tomatoes, beans, and sugarcane. With improved road infrastructure, farmers and traders will enjoy better access to markets, which will ultimately boost livelihoods and strengthen our economy,” Governor Sani stated.
He also disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the urgent reconstruction of the Pambegua–Saminaka–Jos Road, while the Saminaka–Kano Road is under serious consideration due to its strategic importance for trade and national integration.
The event also served as a political milestone, as several top officials of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lere formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Sani welcomed the decampees, describing their move as a vote of confidence in the administration’s inclusive and people-centered governance.
“We are glad to receive our brothers and sisters into the APC. Their decision reflects our growing unity and commitment to equity, fairness, and service delivery, regardless of political affiliation,” he added.
Governor Sani expressed gratitude to community leaders and stakeholders who commended his government’s interventions in Lere and other parts of Kaduna State. Their continued support, he noted, strengthens the administration’s resolve to deliver sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for all citizens.
