JALINGO – Amid extreme hunger and hardship, the Impact Your World Foundation (IYWF) a Non Governmental Organization based in Jalingo Taraba State has distributed food items and wrappers to over 200 widows and orphans in Taraba.
The Executive Director of IYWF Mr Yakubu Iranius, flagged off the distribution during the celebration of 50th birthday of his elder brother Mr Polycarp Iranius and launching of his book Divine Therapy, a Comforting Voice in the Wilderness, in Jalingo.
Iranius said that the NGO is dedicated to providing succour to the most vulnerable members of the society and hopes to extend the gesture to reach even more people.
The young author states that “today is a very special day for me, my family as well as the Impact Your World Foundation. Not only are we gathered to celebrate my elder brother who has clocked 50 today, we are privilege to also launch the book Divine Therapy which, I am convinced that will truly comfort many in this trying time.

“But most importantly, I believe in being practical. It is not enough to write comforting words for people. It is very important to, as much as possible, reach out and practically, help them. That is why today, we are giving out bags of rice and wrappers to about 200 widows and orphans in the State. This is our own little way of giving back to the society.
“We would continue to aspire to do more. In the past, we have been able to reach out to pay medical bills and sponsor surgical operations for vulnerable people, we have bought wheelchairs for those in need and have done a few things. We are aware of a wide gap that needs to be filled and we would do everything to okay a role in filling this huge need gap.
“Let me use this opportunity to call on those who may wish to reach out to vulnerable people but do not know how to partner with us as we have a strong and reliable machinery in place to ensure that any assistance gets to those who really need them”.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent commend the NGO for the gesture and prayed that the efforts will be sustained.
“I just got my first new wrapper for more than five years today. Things have not been easy and lately, it was a turn for the worse. Feeding has been particularly very challenging. This bag of rice will go a long way in providing breakfast for my children” one of the beneficiaries said.
