New Fiorentina goalkeeper, David De Gea, has explained why it took him over one year to find a new club.
De Gea left Manchester United in the summer of 2023 after his contract expired.
Despite being linked to several clubs, the Spaniard only returned to football this month.
De Gea has signed a short contract with Fiorentina and now opened up on his hiatus.
“Man United is a top, top club and my heart will always be there.
“I never thought about retiring, it was just difficult to find motivation for a new chapter after 12 years at a top club like Man United.
“I finally felt that at Fiorentina,” De Gea said.
