by Joy: News Admin

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration and revalidation exercise across the state, reaffirming his commitment to the party by registering as Member No. 001 at Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

The symbolic gesture marks the commencement of a month-long statewide drive to authenticate the party’s base and mobilize new members at the grassroots level.

Revalidating APC’s Grassroots Strength
Addressing supporters and party stakeholders during the exercise, Governor Eno emphasized the importance of the registration drive, calling it a “necessary step” to authenticate loyal party members and streamline the APC’s internal structure in Akwa Ibom.

“This exercise is essential for validating and revalidating genuine members of our great party,” he said.
“All members and prospective members must register at their respective wards to establish their loyalty and commitment to the APC.”

One-Month Registration Timeline
The Governor confirmed that the membership registration exercise will span one month, after which the updated register will be adopted as the official membership record for the APC in the state.

“At the end of the validation process, the new membership register will serve as the working document of the Party,” he added.
“Everyone who moved with me to the APC is expected to participate in this process to confirm their alignment and commitment.”

Eno: ‘It’s a Strategic Move to Support the Centre’
Speaking to Government House correspondents after validating his membership, Governor Eno described the process as smooth and well-coordinated. He called on party members to exercise patience and decorum during registration at the ward level.

“I feel fulfilled to have formally validated my APC membership at my ward. It’s what every dedicated party member should do at this crucial time,” the Governor said.

“My move to the APC is both strategic and deliberate—meant to align Akwa Ibom with the federal government for the benefit of our people.”

Governor Eno reiterated his full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his ongoing economic reforms, and pledged to back Senate President Godswill Akpabio, describing him as a worthy son of Akwa Ibom and a beacon of leadership in the National Assembly.

A Call for Unity and Progress
Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibomites to embrace unity, peace, and love, highlighting the symbolism behind the APC’s broom emblem.

“A single broomstick breaks easily, but a bunch of brooms is unbreakable. That is the strength of unity,” he said.
“Let us not allow division. Let’s remain focused on our shared goals of progress, prosperity, and inclusive growth.”

He encouraged every eligible citizen to register and secure their APC membership card, stating that their participation is vital to the party’s future success.
