A three-man advance team of the Abia state governor, Alex Otti, was early Tuesday morning attacked by gunmen in Imo state.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Abia state governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, who made the disclosure in a statement, it occured at a place between Ihitte and Umuowa villages in Imo state, just miles away from the Imo Airport.
While stating that the governor was not part of the convoy, he made it clear that no lives were lost in the unfortunate incident.
Police authorities were yet to speak on the development as at the time of filling this report.
