Wike Sues FCTA Workers Over Ongoing Strike

by Joy: News Admin

Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has taken legal action against the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC) over the ongoing strike by workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

The lawsuit, marked NICN/ABJ/17/2026, has been filed at the Abuja Division of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) and is scheduled for hearing on Monday.

FCTA workers began an indefinite strike after a seven-day ultimatum expired, leading to the shutdown of major government offices in Abuja.

Wike and the FCTA are seeking a court order to restrain the unions and their officials from actions such as picketing, blocking access roads, and shutting offices, which they say have disrupted the smooth running of the administration. JUAC, however, says it will continue the strike until its demands are met.
