ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to driving innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth in Africa’s energy industry as the company officially flagged off the 2026 edition of the NOG Energy Week in Abuja.
The event, regarded as one of the continent’s leading gatherings for stakeholders in the oil, gas and energy sectors, commenced on Sunday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre and will run until July 9.
As the Principal Sponsor of the week-long conference and exhibition, NNPC Limited took centre stage at the opening ceremony, where its Group Chief Executive Officer, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, was represented by the Executive Vice President, Upstream, Udy Ntia.
Representing the GCEO, Ntia officially declared the exhibition open before leading dignitaries, exhibitors and participants on a tour of the exhibition halls, marking the formal commencement of activities for the 2026 NOG Energy Week.
The opening ceremony brought together key players from Nigeria’s petroleum industry, international energy companies, regulators, investors, policymakers, technology providers and other stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration and discuss the future of the energy sector.
According to NNPC Limited, the presence of the Group Chief Executive Officer through his representative underscores the company’s commitment to promoting strategic industry engagement, encouraging innovation and supporting initiatives that will strengthen Nigeria’s position as a leading energy destination.
The company noted that the week-long conference provides a platform for robust dialogue on emerging trends in the global energy landscape, technological advancement, investment opportunities, energy transition, upstream and downstream development, gas commercialisation and sustainable energy solutions.
