Abuja (Precise Post) – Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has denied the statement credited to former Federal Road Safety Corps boss Osita Chidoka to the effect that the Awolowo was unforgiving, he introduced ethnic politics to Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode who said that ethnic politics was introduced by others from outside Yorubaland long before Awolowo came on the scene and Action Group was formed, adding that facts are sacred and opinion is cheap and historical revisionism is a very dangerous and irresponsible thing.

The former Aviation Minister who claimed to know the history inside out, disclosed this via his twitter handle. He advised Chidoka to learn more about what happened in the early and mid-1940’s.

The tweets read:

“Awolowo was unforgiving, he introduced ethnic politics to Nigeria” – @osita_chidoka.

This is false. Awo did NOT introduce ethnic politics to Nigeria. Ethnic politics was introduced by OTHERS from OUTSIDE Yorubaland long before Awo came on the scene & Action Group was formed.

Facts are sacred and opinion is cheap. Historical revisionism is a very dangerous and irresponsible thing. I know the history inside out. We know when it started, how it started, who started it and where it took us to. Learn more about what happened in the early and mid-1940’s.
