ABAKALIKI – Chief Tochukwu Ogalagu, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency ahead of  2027, has urged Nigerians to uphold justice and electoral integrity.

Ogalagu, popularly known as T-Man, made the call in a message issued on Friday in Abakaliki to commemorate the 2026 Democracy Day anniversary.

He described June 12 as a symbol of Nigerians’ resilience and commitment to democratic governance, justice and constitutional order, noting that the day honours the sacrifices of those who fought for the entrenchment of democracy in the country.

The APGA candidate congratulated President Bola Tinubu, Vice  President Kashim Shettima and Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi on the occasion and  commended  their efforts toward national unity, democratic consolidation and development.

He also acknowledged the leadership of APGA at the national, zonal and state levels for sustaining the party’s vision and strengthening its grassroots support base.

Ogalagu said that while APGA remained appreciative of positive efforts by the Federal Government, the party would continue to offer a credible alternative platform anchored on people-oriented governance and accountability.

According to him, democracy can only flourish where the will of the people is respected and electoral processes remain transparent and credible.

He urged citizens to remain law-abiding, vigilant and committed to safeguarding their votes during future elections.

The candidate said he had facilitated more than 500 jobs and supported humanitarian interventions in healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure and financial assistance through private and community-based initiatives.

He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation of Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal constituency if elected, promising to pursue policies that would promote economic growth and social development.

“My legislative priorities will include job creation, youth empowerment, digital infrastructure, agricultural modernisation, industrial expansion and improved security.

“Attention will also be given to strengthening small and medium-scale enterprises, expanding access to credit for farmers and traders and promoting skills acquisition programmes for young people.” Ogalagu said.

He further called on political actors to embrace issue-based campaigns and democratic tolerance as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

He urged Nigerians to support leaders based on competence, integrity and performance, stressing that active citizen participation remained essential to strengthening democratic governance. (NAN)
