Senator Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being controlled by agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) operating from the Presidential Villa.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, Melaye declared that the PDP is “dead and buried,” insisting that the once-dominant opposition party has been compromised.
According to him, “Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ, no dead can rise again. Whatever you are seeing today is a make-shift; the dead is dead, and what we can only do now is advertise the obituary. PDP was sold, and I’m not even sure if they got a receipt of payment, but it was sold. What exists now is an APC-controlled PDP. It is a party being directed from the Villa by APC agents.”
Reacting to a recent statement by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on the current state of the PDP, Melaye said the governor’s words were proof that the party has collapsed.
“If a sitting governor is saying, ‘let’s have a party first,’ it means there is no party,” he noted.
The former lawmaker, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District, reiterated his loyalty to the ADC, stressing that the party has what it takes to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the next general elections.
“I am a proud member of the ADC, and that is the party that will unseat Tinubu. By the grace of God, come May 29, 2027, Tinubu will be sent out of the Villa,” Melaye said.
