WASHINGTON DC (PRECISE POST) – United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres has lauded Africa’s immense potential, citing the continent’s youthful population, rich natural resources, and dynamic entrepreneurial energy as springboard for growth.
Guterres, who took to his verified X handle on Thursday said these factors position Africa for significant progress in the coming years.
However, he stressed the need for Africa to have a stronger voice in international affairs, particularly in shaping policies that directly impact its future.
Guterres specifically called for reforms to the UN Security Council and an overhaul of the current international financial system, which he described as unfair to developing nations.
“Empowering Africa in global decision-making is essential to unlocking its full potential and ensuring a more equitable future,” Guterres said.
