ABUJA ( PRECISE POST)  –  Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Shehu Usman Osidi, has showered praises on the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) for its unwavering role in promoting transparency, accountability, and professionalism in Nigeria’s financial system.

According to the statement released on the official X account of the FMBN on Wednesday, speaking at the 30th Annual National Conference of ANAN, Osidi described the association as a key player in the country’s journey toward economic credibility and sustainable development.

“ANAN has consistently contributed to national development by strengthening financial reporting and upholding professional ethics across sectors,” he said in a goodwill message at the conference’s opening ceremony.

Osidi also reiterated FMBN’s commitment to broadening access to affordable homeownership in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that sound financial management remains critical to achieving inclusive economic growth.

Reflecting on the conference theme, “Building Economic Resilience through Sustainable Practices, Transparent Reporting and Accountable Governance,” Osidi emphasized that it captures the strategic synergy required to drive responsible and long-term economic growth.

“The theme underscores the need for a comprehensive, transparent, and accountable governance structure to build a resilient national economy,” he stated.

In a strong appeal to the executive arm, Osidi thanked Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin for his role in the successful passage of the ANAN Amendment Bill 2025, and called on President Tinubu to give prompt assent to the bill.

“I urge His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, to expedite action by assenting to the ANAN Amendment Bill without delay,” Osidi declared.

The conference, which drew participants from across the financial, public, and private sectors, continues to serve as a platform for advancing best practices in economic governance and fiscal integrity.
