‘50kg Rice Will Drop to N30K Per Bag’ — Primate Ayodele Releases Bold Prophecy on Nigeria’s Economy

Lagos, Nigeria – Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has released a fresh prophecy, predicting a sharp drop in food prices and a stronger naira in the coming months.

Speaking in a video posted on the church’s official Facebook page on Friday, October 3, the cleric forecasted that a 50kg bag of rice, currently selling between ₦58,000 and ₦67,000 depending on brand and location, will crash to ₦30,000.

Ayodele also predicted that the naira could strengthen to ₦900/$1 and petrol prices could return to around ₦500 per litre if the government sustains its current economic policies.

Quoting his prophecy, Ayodele said:

“Just continue to do what you are doing. Subsidy is still okay. I tell you, you need prayers, because you can bring the dollar to ₦900. You can bring rice back to ₦30,000. And petrol, you can still bring back to ₦500.”

Tinubu’s Economic Reforms in Focus

Since assuming office in May 2023, President Bola Tinubu has defended his sweeping economic reforms, including subsidy removal and naira devaluation, describing them as necessary to correct years of mismanagement.

Despite the initial hardship, government officials insist the results are becoming visible.

On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, stated that Nigeria’s economy is “on the move” under Tinubu’s leadership.

He cited a 4.4% GDP growth rate and foreign reserves hitting $42 billion, describing the figures as evidence of progress.

“Nigerians are beginning to see the positive results of reforms. The country is getting close to the Promised Land,” Akume said during the inauguration of the Northern Christian Religious Leaders Assembly in Abuja.

Mixed Reactions on Nigeria’s Economic Path

While many Nigerians remain skeptical due to rising living costs, some economists and government aides argue that the country is better positioned than it was decades ago.

Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, recently argued that despite challenges, Nigerians are better off now compared to 1960, when infrastructure and access to basic amenities were far more limited.

Bottom Line

Primate Ayodele’s bold prophecy has stirred conversation nationwide, as citizens watch closely to see if his predictions on rice, petrol, and the naira will come to pass amid Tinubu’s much-debated reforms.
