ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – Ahead of the August convention and as a prelude to fine-tune things prior to 2027 election, governors elected on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) are meeting today in Abuja for the 5th edition of the PDP Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) under the 2025 calendar.
According to the statement released on the official X account handle of the PDP Governor’s Forum, the high-level meeting, which took place at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, was chaired by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and features a broad assembly of current PDP governors, former state leaders, and party officials.
Key topics on the agenda include pressing national issues, strategies to strengthen internal party unity, and early preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The Forum also hosted the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by Acting National Chairman Ambassador Iliya Damagum, signaling a coordinated effort between elected officials and the party’s national leadership.
Among the current governors in attendance are:
- Governor Agbu Kefas (Taraba)
- Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa)
- Governor Dauda Lawal (Zamfara)
- Governor Ademola Adeleke (Osun)
- Governor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom)
- Governor Peter Mbah (Enugu)
- Governor Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau)
- Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo)
- Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo (Bayelsa)
The gathering also sees the return of prominent former governors, including:
- Dr. Bukola Saraki (Kwara and former Senate President)
- Sen. Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna)
- Sen. Liyel Imoke (Cross River)
- Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia)
- Sen. Gabriel Suswam (Benue)
- Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano)
- Mr. Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom)
The Director-General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, also played a key coordinating role during the proceedings.
