PORT HARCOURT- The Rivers Government has attributed the demolition of the state House of Assembly Complex to structural defects arising from explosion and fire outbreak.
Mr Joseph Johnson, the state’s Commissioner for Information, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
Johnson said that the incident rendered the building unfit for human use, saying that there were visible cracks on the walls and the entire structure looked frail and unsafe for legislative business.
He said that professional advice was sought on the integrity of the building, after Gov. Siminalaye Fubara’s inspection visit to determine the level of damage.
“After the assessment of the integrity of the complex, experts warned the government that continuing to use the building in its present state would be disastrous.
‘’The government had tried all cost saving measures towards the repair of the complex until it bowed to superior view of rebuilding the complex to a more befitting edifice.
‘’In the interim, the Rivers Government has provided an alternative venue for the House of Assembly to conduct its affairs pending the rebuilding of the complex,’’ Johnson said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the assembly was attacked in October, after an attempt by some lawmakers to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor and this divided the house into two factions, creating tension in the state.(NAN)

PORT HARCOURT- Gunmen on Monday ambushed vehicles conveying Daewoo workers, killed two drivers and four soldiers escorting the expatriates in Rivers.
No fewer than two expatriate workers of the company were reportedly kidnapped by the gunmen.
Maj. Danjuma Danjuma, Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division, Nigeria Army, Port Harcourt, confirmed the killing in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
He said the attack occurred in the early hours of Monday along the Ahoada/Abua stretch of the East-West Road in the state.
“Suspected militants attacked troops of 5 Battalion on routine escort duty for an oil servicing company at Enweh West Manifold in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers.
“The convoy was attacked at Emesu Junction, along Amungboro-Emuphan Road in the local government area.
“Unfortunately, four soldiers were killed in action while two other oil workers are unaccounted for,” he said.
Danjuma said the suspected militants, after carrying out the attacks, escaped through the Emesu waterside to Orashi River in the area.
“Troops are currently combing the general area to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act while efforts are ongoing to ensure the unaccounted oil workers are found.
“Maj.-Gen. Jamal Abdussalam, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division and Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation Delta Safe, has condemned this unwarranted attack.
“The GOC, while acknowledging the supreme sacrifice paid by the gallant soldiers, has reassured that the criminals would be tracked down to pay for their crimes,” he added.
The army spokesman called on members of the public to provide the division with credible and actionable intelligence to aid the arrest of the fleeing gunmen. (NAN)
PORT HARCOURT- The All Progressive Congress(APC)in Rivers, on Monday urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, to join the party in the state.
Its Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, made the remark while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt in reaction to the defection of the 27 lawmakers into the party from PDP.
Okocha, who is also the State Representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC), expressed joy over the steps taken by the defectors.
He said that the party had been communicated to officially by the defectors, which made the defection true and not a rumour.
Okocha commended the lawmakers for their bold steps in defecting to APC, saying that the remaining four members in the house cannot be equated to the 27 members.
On whether or not the reason for defection was to prepare grounds for Wike to defect to APC, he said, ”I don’t think so.
”Whatever their reason is, when they get to the bridge they will cross it.
‘’Wike is a politician whose name shakes and echoes in the society; so nobody can think or say for him if he will defect to APC or not.’’ .
Okocha said that the party in the state needed Wike to join it to assist it, adding,” we are not begging him to join; in 2023. he immensely aided the victory of APC in the state.”
On claims that Wike will be in PDP till 2027 to aid its victory like he did for APC in 2023,, Okocha said, ”the party did not firmly see him do that.
‘’The best thing we are asking him to do is to come and join the APC because it is the government in power.”
On whether or not the lawmakers’ defection was a plan to impeach the sitting Gov. Fubara, Okocha said that the impeachment of a governor was not a one- day affair or a coup.
He explained that the defectors did not tell him if their defection was to impeach the governor and as such, could not speak for them on that ground.
Okocha explained. ”If the state governor has decided to give vent to the four persons over above the 27 persons, then you know that it is a complete anatomy and would not be tolerated by anybody.”
He said the state had gone past the era of 16 members being above 19 members like in the previous regime.
Okocha said that the defectors allegedly confided in him that there was no good governance in the state.
He said that the new entrants into APC would be formally received into its fold on Sunday. (NAN)
PORT HARCOURT- The factional members of the Rivers House of Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution condemning the alleged withholding of funds for the management of the Assembly by the state government.
The faction led by its Speaker, Mr Martin Amaewhule, made the disclosure at its 87th plenary in Port Harcourt.
The group comprising 27 legislators, accused the state Governor, Mr Siminialayi Fubara, of starving them of funds.
The 27 lawmakers out of the 32 lawmakers of the House, thereafter, announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors cited division in the PDP as the reason for crossing to the APC.
Speaking after reading the letters signed by the defected lawmakers, Amaewhule directed the Clerk of the House to convey their resolution to the governor, Mr Siminialayi Fubara and relevant authorities.
According to him, the decision of 27 lawmakers is borne out of the desire to serve the state better.
However, the Rivers State Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2023′ scaled through the second reading at the plenary. (NAN)
Breaking: Rivers crisis takes new turn as PDP Assembly members defect to APC
written by Arabella Zikora
There have been 27 defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) by members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Assembly members who defected are those loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The state legislators defected during Monday’s sitting at the Assembly complex.
Out of the 32 members of the House, four are said to be loyal to Governor Siminialayi Fubara, while the other House members are loyal to Wike.
Details soon…
Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has vowed never to surrender the state to blackmail and intimidation.
Fubara said the state is the people’s inheritance. Hence, he would protect and defend it from blackmail.
He spoke at the quarterly general meeting of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers in Port Harcourt.
The governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, were involved in a face-off over the political structure of the state.
Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, had accused Fubara of neglecting the structure that brought him into power.
The face-off between the duo led to an impeachment move against Fubara, but President Bola Tinubu intervened.
However, speaking at the event, Fubara said: “Let us not forget that Rivers State is our collective inheritance, presently under my watch, to protect, defend and advance it as the governor.
“I assure you that I will not fail in this responsibility, nor will I surrender our mandate and progress to intimidation, blackmail and deliberate sabotage.
“I reaffirm my earlier statement and recommit myself to the path of peace as there is nothing to gain in a state of needless crisis.”
Fubara said no society would thrive without peace and security.
PORT HARCOURT- Ogoni Development Drive (ODD) says it has begun the process to recall four Ogoni lawmakers from Rivers House of Assembly over their alleged roles in the botched impeachment of Gov. Similanayi Fubara.
The lawmakers are Dumle Maol (PDP, Gokana constituency), Barile Nwakoh (PDP, Khana), Aforji Igwe (PDP, Eleme) and Bernard Ngba (PDP, Tai).
The advocacy group’s Convener, Comrade Solomon Lenu, made this known at a news conference in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Fubara survived an alleged impeachment plot on Oct. 30.
“ODD had on Nov. 10 issued a seven-day ultimatum to the four Ogoni lawmakers, who partook in the plot that attempted to serve an impeachment notice to Gov. Fubara.
“The four lawmakers, now suspended, were asked to apologise to the Ogoni people whom they represent and to Gov. Fubara for denigrating his exalted office or risk being recalled.
“Instead of heeding this advice and embracing the olive branch extended to them, they rather embarked on an egocentric escapade,” he said.
Lenu further said the lawmakers rather than heed to the advice by ODD engaged in various meetings that purportedly plotted to unseat the governor.
“Gov. Fubara was collectively voted for by the entire Rivers people, and as such, the action by the lawmakers has not gone well with all men and women of conscience.
“It is illogical for the erring assembly members to think it is right to impeach an innocent governor for no just cause but wrong to recall them for erring against their constituents.
“The suspended lawmakers called a bluff of ODD ultimatum, and so, we have decided to carry out this recall process in earnest, to put our democracy aright,” he said.
Lenu said the group had already reached an advanced level in sensitising and mobilising the lawmaker’s constituents to recall them.
He said that ODD had also obtained the comprehensive voters’ register of all voters in the four local government areas and constituencies.
According to him, an electronic capture form has also been created to make the petition process easier for students at various tertiary school campuses and those on holiday to sign the petition.
“So far, the response from the aggrieved constituents has been very impressive, and we shall in a few weeks’ time complete the compilation of the required signatures.
“The signatures are required for INEC to call for a referendum, which shall be carried out in branches with strict security guidance, to abort any sinister counterplot against democracy.
“We know this process is not going to be easy, but we are ready to go all the way, to create a sense of responsibility in our elected leaders,” he said.
Lenu said instilling a sense of responsibility in politicians and elected leaders would further entrench democratic tenets in the country.
The ODD convener called on the people of Ogoni to come forward and sign the petition, to end political “jamboree and illicit godfatherism” in the state.
NAN reports that 26 lawmakers on Oct. 30 proceeded to impeach Fubara but were stopped by four pro-Fubara lawmakers led by Ehie Edison (PDP-Ahoada East II).
Mr Martins Amaewhule (Obio Akpor constituency), a close ally of a former governor, was later ousted as Speaker and Ehie sworn in as the new Speaker.
However, Amaewhule insists that he is still the Speaker of the House of Assembly, resulting in some form of confusion over the office of the Speaker. (NAN)
ABUJA- The Coalition of River Leaders of Thoughts has expressed confidence on the ability and capacity of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, to deliver on the mandate of the nation’s capital.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Chief Sunnie Chukumele and Secretary, Mr Josiah Onoriode and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Abuja.
They described those recently calling for sack of the FCT minister as ignoramous and agents of division.
According to them, any Nigerian has the right to be appointed in whatever capacity that the President and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces deems fit. Wike has the capacity to administer the FCT.
“President Bola Tinubu has confidence in and believes in his capacity, hence, he appointed him as Minister of the Federal Republic.
“From all indications, Wike is ready to transform Abuja into a Mega City. He has strategised to increase the revenue base of the FCT and is yielding results already. We believe in his capacity.
“The recent outburst from a Muslim cleric regarding who should and should not be appointed Minister of the FCT is regrettable and could be described as hate speech.
“In fact, the outburst came as an attack on our son who was meritoriously appointed by Tinunu as Minister of the FCT,’’ the coalition said.
It emphasised that the security and intelligence community in Nigeria should have been seen to have taken decisive action on the cleric as a critical and needed step to assuage the fears of the conscious populace of Nigeria.
According to the organisation, the negative impacts of such an outburst from a cleric definitely affects investment decisions on Nigeria by the much sought after foreign investors which Tinubu is trying to woo.
“We want to advise that whenever the cleric makes such comment again, he should be invited by the security services and other agencies to answer questions. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians,’’ the coalition stated. (NAN)
ABUJA- The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has opened up on the rift between him and the Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara.
Referring to the crisis in Rivers State, Wike hinted at Fubara being an ingrate.
Speaking at a media parley on Friday, the minister said money and power bring out the true identity of a person.
According to Wike, “Let me tell you, I don’t like ingrates; I can’t stand it. What is happening now is what Odili said in his book ‘give a man power and money, then you will know the person.’
“If you haven’t given a man power and money then you don’t know the person. However, I’m not worried because I’m a politician. I know what other states are suffering because of debt, but go and check if I had liabilities, the records are there.
“I left projects for him to commission so he would showcase during his hundred days, then politics came in. We are just starting; God gave you something; you are now importing crisis.
“God gave this in the platter of gold, the Federal Government is not fighting you, no crisis, but you are the one now trying to create a crisis for yourself; only those who are natural ingrates will support what is happening there. I use the instrumentality of law to fight not thugs, time will come.”
I’m in Abuja as FCT governor but interested in Rivers political structure: Wike
by Edit
written by Edit
ABUJA- FCT minister Nyesom Wike says despite his political appointment in Abuja by the APC government, he is keenly interested in the political structure of the PDP in Rivers and will fight tooth and nail against politicians attempting to dismantle it.
Mr Wike stated this when a delegation of Rivers caucus in the 10th National Assembly comprising three senators and 11 members of the House of Representatives visited him in Abuja.
There was a crisis in Rivers after an attempt by the Rivers parliament to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
“I was a governor for eight years. I am now FCT Minister, and some will say that I am asking for 25 per cent. That is madness. I am not interested in the governance of Rivers,” said Mr Wike. “I am not interested. I am here as a governor in FCT, but I am interested in the political structure of Rivers, which we have built over the years.”
The former governor warned, “If anybody dares to bring it down, the person will face the crisis he wants in his life. Perform or don’t perform, but don’t touch our political structure. Anybody who puts his hand in our structure, anything you see, take it.”
Mr Wike urged members of the caucus not to disappoint the state but to work as a team for the good of the people of Rivers.
“When you make mistakes, we will call you and tell you that you are making a mistake. Take it in good faith that we are calling your attention because we think that you are derailing. But when we call you, don’t say we are expecting a kickback of 25 per cent from you or so and so per cent,” the FCT minister explained.
He added, “All of us are one. We’ve built this political structure for a long time, since 2015, and we have emerged victorious. As the opposition party from 2015, I saw hell. The federal government fought me left, right, and centre, but with your support, we survived. When you work as a team, you’ll discover that it is difficult for an outsider to defeat you at home.”
Earlier, Kinsley Chinda (PDP-Rivers), Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, said that the visit was to identify with the minister.
Mr Chinda, representing the Obio/Akpor federal constituency, added that the visit also thanked Wike for his support during the 2023 general elections.
He added that he played a key role in their emergence as lawmakers in the National Assembly and that Mr Wike’s appointment was well deserved, condemned the political crisis in the state and declared their total support for Mr Wike. (NAN)

RIVERS- A Rivers State High Court of Isiokpo Division on Wednesday issued an interim injunction, restraining the state House of Assembly and the Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, from impeaching Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
Also restrained by the court are the deputy speaker, clerk and the state Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Chibuzor-Amadi.
The Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Ben Whyte, issued the order, following the deposition of the Motion Ex Parte, filed by Mr Damian Okoro (SAN) on behalf of the governor against the defendants.
The court further restrained “the defendants and their agents, privies, proxies and representatives from initiating, continuing or proceeding with the process of the removal of the claimant from office as the governor of Rivers.”
The defendants were also restrained by the order of the court from “interfacing with and/or preventing the claimant from carrying out the duties and functions of his office as governor, pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice.’’
Moreover, the judge ordered the parties in the case to maintain the status quo by not doing anything in furtherance of the purported impeachment of the applicant as governor.
The case was later adjourned to November 14, for hearing. (NAN)
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on all actors in the Rivers crisis to sheathe their swords and allow for amicable resolution of the problem.
The party said this in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Mr Debo Ologunagba in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ologunagba urged all PDP members and supporters in the state to be calm.
He said that the party had initiated some processes, using its internal conflict resolution mechanism to ensure that all disagreements were resolved.
He also charged all leaders, critical stakeholders and members of PDP in the state to close ranks, unite and focus on the onerous task of governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.(NAN)
Rivers crisis: Peterside calls for peace, condemns moves to impeach Gov Fubara
by Edit
written by Edit
Dr Dakuku Peterside, a former Member of the House of Representatives, has condemned the political crisis in Rivers State and the attempt to impeach the Governor Sim Fubara.
Recall that some unknown persons on Sunday night set some sections of the Rivers State House of Assembly on fire in what is seen as a politically motivated violence.
On Monday, an impeachment notice was served on the Governor by a faction of the state House of Assembly.
However, in a statement he personally sighed on Tuesday, Peterside, a turnaround expert and 2015 governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers State, called for peace from the warring parties.
He said the state governor, who is barely five months in office, had not done anything that should justify any move to impeach him.
He said no one’s personal ambition should override the interest of Rivers State.
His full statement reads:
LET REASON PREVAIL
1. I have watched with utter disbelief and disgust the most recent developments in Rivers State.
2. Our once peaceful Rivers State has been turned into a theatre of the absurd by desperate political actors who do not wish the State well.
3. I condemn, in all ramifications, the raw violence that followed what should ordinarily be average political engagements
4. I also completely condemn the unwarranted disruption of normal governmental activities by politically motivated interest. All people of goodwill who love our dear State and democracy must condemn this in no mean measure.
5. I have read in the media, impeachment issues and the like. In good conscience, impeachment issues cannot arise in less than 5 months of incumbency. It sends the wrong signal that our State is a land of theatrics.
6. Nothing in the political landscape has shown that the Executive Governor has compromised the State’s interest or put our State in a severe security quagmire.
7. I have always said that no pursuit of personal interest or ambition can override the interest of Rivers State and its people. We, political leaders, must always watch our actions and tame our excesses.
8. I appeal to all political actors to allow time and space for the Governor to do his job. Only one Governor can function at a time. I also appeal to members of RSHA to focus on the business of law-making and get less distracted by the pursuit of personal ego or narrow pecuniary interest.
9. Finally, I appeal to all leaders in Rivers State to intervene in measured terms with the overall interest of our State in mind. Posterity will judge all of us. Let us allow reason to prevail, please.
Dr Dakuku Peterside
Political leader. APC Leader. 2015 Rivers State Governorship candidate of APC.
We will act decisively – Ijaw National Congress sends warning to Wike over feud with Gov Fubara

RIVERS- The Ijaw National Congress, INC, has berated Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, over what it described as his alleged grand plot to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state.
The INC, in a press statement signed by its President, Prof. Benjamin Ogle Okaba, stated this while accusing Wike of being the brain of the grand plot to impeach Fubara unlawfully.
Part of the statement read:
“The INC considers this development very worrisome and capable of generating an unwarranted state of insecurity and instability that can throw the entire Niger Delta and the Nigerian economy into serious crises.
“The INC condemns in its entirety this barbaric, selfish, nepotistic and unconstitutional act capable of derailing the process of democratic consolidation in Nigeria.
“The INC calls on Mr President and Commander in Chief President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call his FCT Minister to order. The INC also calls on all jaw sons, daughters and friends to rally their support for the Governor of River state as an injustice to one jaw man is an injustice to over forty (40) million Ijaw people worldwide.
“The ljaw Nation is watching closely and will act decisively and appropriately at the right time”.
AWKA- The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a pressure group, has warned against the plot to impeach Rivers Gov. Siminalaye Fubara, describing the move as “an attack on democracy”.
Its view is contained in a statement jointly signed by Mr Goodluck Ibem, President-General, Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders, Mr Iniobong Sampson, Leader, South-South Youth Coalition, and Mr Junaid Abubakar of Arewa Youth Vanguard For Good Governance.
The statement was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Awka as a reaction to the setting ablaze of the Rivers House of Assembly on Sunday.
The group alleged that Fubara was equally attacked, using life bullets, teargas and other weapons.
“We condemn, in strong terms, the attack on Gov. Fubara and the plot to impeach him using the Rivers State House of Assembly.
“It is clear that some people want him out of power because he has refused to share the commonwealth of the good people of Rivers State to a few.
“He has not committed any impeachable offence and we, the people, say a capital ‘NO’ to their evil plot.
“Clearly, some anti-democratic forces are at work. We warn them to steer clear of Rivers.
“It is unfortunate that some security agents and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly allowed themselves to be used by these individuals who do no mean well for the state,” it fumed.
The statement said that Fubara was elected by the people of Rivers and should be allowed to do the job freely without any form of interference from any quarters.
It called on the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest and prosecute those who allegedly attacked Fubara using dangerous weapons.
It also urged members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resist being used by anyone to cause disaffection in the state.
“We call on Gov Fubara to stand firm and defend the mandate given to him by the good people of the state.
“The good people of Rivers should stand solidly behind their Governor who means well and is fully prepared to move the state to another level of growth and development.
“On our part, we will mobilise two million Nigerian youths to support Gov. Fubara’s quest for effective service delivery.
“The battle to defend Gov Fubara is a battle to defend our democracy,” the statement said. (NAN)
The Labour Party in Rivers State has assured members of the public that the party is still intact.
This is coming after a Rivers State High Court struck out a suit by the suspended state chairman of the party, Dienye Pepple.
The former Chairman had prayed the court to determine if the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure has the sole right to suspend the state executives and appoint a steering committee following his alleged anti-party activities in the state.
Dienye, who heads another faction of the Labour Party in the state insists that he is still the chairman of the party, claiming that factional Acting National Chairman, Lamidi Apapa, had given him a letter to continue piloting the affairs of the party in the state, until their convention.
This has, however, quietened the activities of the Labour Party in the state since after the elections.
But, the newly appointed state chairman, after Pepple’s suspension, Hilda Dokubo, who spoke in her first activity as a leader of the party in the state, said the party has been quiet because people needed to recover from the outcome of the elections.
“You know, right after the elections and all the things that happened. Few people needed time to recover.
“We also had a situation. Before the election, the exco at the time, outside of the fact that their tenure had expired, also got themselves into anti-party activities.
“But they didn’t want to leave, they wanted to eat their cake and bake it, because this is not having it. You’re done eating and you think your food is in the oven.
“So, they took us to court and to the glory of God, and to truth, we are here. The court ruled and said the party is supreme. The person the party said is their chairman, is their chairman.
“So, this is Hilda Dokubo, and I’m here. This is my first real activity as the chairman. And this meeting is necessitated by the fat that I want to reassure people that the party is intact. Nothing has gone wrong, nothing can go wrong.
“We stand together as a people, and our strength as citizens is in one another.”
“We’re strengthening one another. We’re about to embark on party activities, especially training and retraining.
“We need people to understand their roles, not just as party members, but as citizens of this country.
“Like the speaker said, one election is not enough for you to say I’m done as a citizen. We’re doing this to re-energize ourselves, we’re doing this to announce that we’re here.”
Dokubo, who is a renowned Nollywood actress, said the party have not given up in the 2023 election, hoping for 2027, but they are waiting for the judiciary to save Nigeria.
Reacting to a statement by the former South-South Vice Chairman of the party, Favour Reuben, accusing Peter Obi of being responsible for the internal crisis rocking the Labour Party, Dokubo said, “By the court and by the party, he has been expelled. So, it’s like a non-member of the house speaking and condemning the house.
“So it comes with no relevance as far as I’m concerned. If Favour has bones to pick, he should go to where his fish is and pick his bones.
“Accusing Peter Obi is ridiculous. He should ask himself what he has done to improve on anything.” She said.
On his part; the Rivers State Organizing Secretary and Spokesperson of the Labour Party, Gogo Wellington, said the purpose of their meeting is to encourage members across the twenty local government areas of the state that the Party is still on course to reclaim their mandate at the presidential election petition tribunal.
”The event today was a medium for us to assemble all party stakeholders and Obidients in the state, to try and encourage them in our pursuit for justice.
“You know, we’re still following the case of our principal in court and we’re waiting for the judgement which has been reserved to be given in a yet-to-be-announced date.
“All that can lead to some form of uncertainty in the minds of people.
“So, we needed to bring our people across the 23 LGAs together to talk on certain important issues and encourage them that we’re still on course to victory because we’re very certain that we’re going to reclaim our mandate.
On Dienye Pepple’s issue, Wellington noted that the former acted on his own when he and the suspended excos decided to endorse Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party, before the guber election in March 2023, abandoning their party’s candidate, Beatrice Itubo.
