Osun Assembly lifts suspension of LG Caretaker Chairman, Afolabi

by Arabella Zikora

The suspension order placed on Lukman Afolabi, the caretaker chairman of Ede South’s main local government, has been lifted.

The suspension was lifted Thursday by the Osun State House of Assembly.

This was revealed by Olamide Tiamiyu, the Chief Press Secretary of the Speaker, on Thursday.

According to reports, Afolabi was suspended by the House of Assembly on Wednesday.

He was suspended for alleged misconduct.

Afolabi was instructed to hand over to his vice; however, after an investigation, the suspension was lifted.

The House said, “The decision was taken after the parliamentary meeting of the Assembly today when the honourable members reviewed the investigations conducted.

“The Assembly has therefore recalled the Chairman to resume office with immediate effect.”
