It was gathered that the gunmen invaded Ringin Gora Village around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and kidnapped a 22-year-old Saratu Abdullahi and her child.
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops immediately launched operation fire for fire against the bandits which forced them to flee, leaving the abducted woman and her child.
The mother and child were rescued unhurt, while the fleeing bandits vanished into the nearby forest.
