PARIS – Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy was found guilty by a Paris criminal court on Thursday on some counts in a trial related to alleged campaign funds from Libya.
A Paris criminal court convicted him of criminal conspiracy but acquitted him of charges of bribery, illegal campaign financing, and benefiting from the embezzlement of public funds.
Sarkozy is expected to receive his sentence on Thursday morning.
The verdict is not yet final, and an appeal is possible.
