MINNA – The Police Command in Niger says it has arrested three-armed robbery suspects in Bosso, Niger.

This is contained in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Wednesday in Minna.

Abiodun said that the victim was returning from work on Feb. 3 at about 4p.m when he was attacked and robbed at New-York Bosso by three miscreants.

“The victim was robbed of his cash, handsets, power bank, wristwatch, two automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards among other items.

“Upon the receipt of the information, Police operatives attached to Bosso Division moved to the scene and the three suspects were arrested,” he said.

The spokesperson identified the suspects as Abubakar Mohammed, 24, Yusuf Usman, 22 and Ifeanyi Nwabusi, 26, all of New-York area Bosso.

Abiodun said that all the items were recovered from them and additional 24ATM cards of different banks with a POS machine.

He said that investigation is ongoing while all the suspects would be charged to court soon.

In another development, police operatives have rescued three abducted victims after a serious gun duel.

“On Feb. 5, at about 10p.m, a report received indicated that some armed men invaded Aworo Village via Leaba Zugurma, Mashegu Local Government Area and abducted three victims to the Park Forest.

“Consequently, on Feb. 8, at about 2a.m, Police operatives attached to Ibbi Division  mobilised with vigilante men and trailed the abductors to their hideout.

“The hoodlums were engaged in a gun duel and the abducted victims were successfully rescued,” Abiodun said. (NAN)
