DOHA (PRECISE POST) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has declared the military and security attachés at the Embassy of Iran persona non grata, ordering them along with their staff to leave the country within 24 hours.
The decision was formally communicated in an official note delivered during a meeting between Ibrahim Yousif Fakhro, Director of Protocol at Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, and Iranian Ambassador Ali Salehabadi.
According to the ministry, the expulsion comes in response to what it described as repeated targeting and “blatant aggression” by Iran against Qatar, actions it said violate the country’s sovereignty and security. The statement further cited breaches of international law, including obligations under United Nations Security Council resolutions, as well as principles of good neighborly relations.
Qatar warned that continued hostile actions by Iran could prompt additional measures aimed at safeguarding its national interests.
The ministry reaffirmed that Qatar reserves the right to take all necessary steps to protect its sovereignty and security in accordance with international law.
