ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – President Bola Tinubu has held discussions with French businessman Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group in Paris, with the company confirming plans to deepen its investments and localisation of operations in Nigeria.
The meeting, which took place on Friday as part of the President’s working vacation, focused on investment opportunities spanning film, entertainment, fibre-optic infrastructure and other related sectors.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the Bolloré Group, whose media and digital interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group, outlined a series of new investments centred on Nigeria.
The group described Nigeria as the spearhead of Africa’s cultural renaissance, citing the global success of Nollywood and Afrobeats as well as growing international demand for Nigerian creative content.
During the meeting, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic development and job creation, particularly for young Nigerians, while placing emphasis on expanding digitalisation.
Tinubu welcomed the Group’s decision to deepen its localisation in Nigeria, noting that the country’s growing global cultural influence provides an opportunity to attract more production, investment and employment opportunities to the country.
He said his administration would continue to support investments aimed at expanding Nigeria’s creative and digital economy, developing local talent and strengthening critical infrastructure.
The President also stressed the importance of positioning Nigeria as a base for businesses seeking to serve the African market and the wider global economy.
Tinubu said the Renewed Hope Agenda was focused on building an economy where Nigeria’s talent, enterprise and growing global cultural reach could translate into increased opportunities and improved livelihoods for citizens.
Onanuga said the meeting formed part of the President’s ongoing engagements with global investors and business leaders during his working vacation in Paris.
