Dangote Refinery partner, MRS Oil Nigeria, and other filling stations have increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol.
A market survey on Sunday showed that stations in Abuja and environs raised prices to N1,409 per litre from N1,370.
This represents an increase of N39 per litre at MRS outlets.
The new price has been effected at MRS stations in Kubwa, Katampe, Gwarimpa and other parts of the FCT.
Similarly, Ranoil and AA Rano increased their prices by N10 to N1,410 per litre from N1,400.
The hike comes days after the Federal Government, through Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, proposed a discounted price of N1,350 per litre at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, retail outlets.
Fuel retailers and marketers have however called on the Federal Government to extend the proposed discount to all filling stations, not just NNPCL outlets.
The increase reverses the downward trend recorded in petrol prices last week.
Got it – going forward, all rewrites will come without the original source mention.
