ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, has called on party leaders at all levels to emulate the commitment, work ethic and dedication of the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Adele, and the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, describing them as two of the ruling party’s most hardworking national officers.
In a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, Kankia said the APC must avoid complacency as Nigeria’s political landscape becomes increasingly competitive, stressing that only leaders willing to invest their time, resources, intellect and energy in strengthening the party would sustain its electoral dominance.
The APC legal chief particularly praised Dr. Alile-Adele for what he described as an exceptional nationwide mobilisation drive, noting that she has gone beyond the traditional responsibilities of the office of National Woman Leader to become one of the party’s strongest grassroots mobilisers.
According to him, Alile-Adele has consistently deployed her personal energy, intellectual capacity and resources to mobilise women, youths and other critical stakeholders in support of the APC’s programmes across the country without waiting for directives or external encouragement.
Kankia said such voluntary commitment has become increasingly rare in contemporary politics, where many office holders restrict themselves to their official responsibilities.
He maintained that party officials who genuinely believe in the APC’s ideals should draw inspiration from her example, arguing that enduring political success is built on sacrifice, loyalty and sustained grassroots engagement rather than titles alone.
The APC National Legal Adviser also commended the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, describing him as one of the APC’s most effective public advocates whose robust defence of the party’s policies has consistently countered opposition narratives.
According to Kankia, Morka has remained steadfast in articulating and defending the APC’s positions on national issues despite persistent political attacks, earning widespread respect within the party and making him, in his words, “the envy of opposition parties.”
He said both Alile-Adele and Morka have demonstrated that effective leadership is measured by visible action rather than rhetoric, adding that their commitment has helped strengthen public confidence in the APC at a time of growing political competition ahead of future elections.
Kankia urged APC executives at the national, state and local government levels to adopt the same spirit of dedication, warning that political parties can only thrive when their leaders take personal responsibility for mobilising supporters and defending the party’s ideals.
“Dr. Mary Alile-Adele is more than a National Woman Leader. She has shown exceptional commitment by investing her time, energy, resources and intellectual capacity in building the party.
“Likewise, Felix Morka has remained a steadfast defender of our policies and programmes. These are qualities every party leader should emulate,” he said.
The APC legal adviser expressed confidence that the sacrifices of both officials would further strengthen the party’s internal cohesion and long-term political prospects, while encouraging them to remain focused on advancing the APC’s vision.
He added that their example highlights the growing importance of grassroots mobilisation, effective communication and organisational loyalty as the ruling party consolidates its structures and prepares for future political engagements.
