ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Chancellor of the Athena Centre for Policy and Leadership, Chief Osita Chidoka, has called on leaders to embrace sacrifice, responsibility, and public trust as Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir reflection, Chidoka said the festival serves as a reminder that true leadership requires selflessness and a commitment to the common good, especially at a time of growing uncertainty in Nigeria and across the globe, the statement issued by the Communications Office of the Athena Centre for Policy and Leadership on Wednesday said.
Reflecting on the example of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Chidoka stated that Eid-el-Kabir “invites reflection on a demanding idea: that what we hold most dear is not finally ours, and that leadership without sacrifice is empty.”
The former minister noted that the celebration should inspire leaders and citizens alike to uphold justice, accountability, and humanity in the face of social and economic challenges.
Chidoka also offered prayers for Muslims in Nigeria and beyond, urging renewed hope and unity.
“May Allah accept our sacrifices, strengthen our humanity, and guide our nation towards greater justice and hope,” he said.
