ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has eulogised the Chairman of Zenith Bank, Jim Ovia for his exceptional contributions to entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and society at large.
This is coming as the Nigerian business magnate and philanthropist, Jim Ovia, was awarded the prestigious Freedom of the City of London.
In a statement released on his X account on Wednesday, the former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate, Peter Obi stressed that Jim Ovia is not only a phenomenal entrepreneur from Nigeria but a visionary leader whose outstanding achievements encourage us all to pursue excellence.
He further stated that the Zenith Bank Chairman has contributed immensely to philanthropy across Nigeria and the world and prayed God Almighty who sees his goodness and commitment to a better society bless him always.”
“Ovia now joins a distinguished list of global figures who have received the historic honour, including Nelson Mandela, Princess Diana, Sir Richard Branson, Ruth Leas, and others who have significantly impacted their communities and the world,” Obi added.
Precise Post recalls that the Freedom of the City of London is one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies, dating back to 1237. It is awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society, both locally and globally.
