ABUJA (PRECISE POST) Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has highlighted the nation’s commitment to harnessing the potential of its youth, investing in education, and advancing smart agriculture as key strategies to address both global and domestic challenges.
Shettima made the declaration as the ongoing 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, the statement released on his official X account said.

Speaking at the Financial Times Global Risk Roundtable, Vice President Shettima emphasized the central role African youth will play in driving the continent’s transformation. He noted that while the world faces numerous crises, these challenges also present unique opportunities for nations to emerge stronger and more resilient.

“The word for crisis in Chinese is Wei Ji,” Shettima explained. “Wei stands for danger, while Ji stands for opportunity. Yes, we have challenges, but those challenges are pregnant with opportunities to re-engineer our society and build back better.”

Reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to innovation and empowerment, the Vice President stressed the importance of focusing on education, gender-focused initiatives, and smart agriculture to position the country’s economy for success in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
