ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, GCON, recently carried out a comprehensive inspection of 14 projects in his Zaria Federal Constituency. The inspection, which took place over the weekend, lasted for more than three hours.
The Speaker expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work on these key development initiatives.
Accompanied by notable figures such as Engr. Mohammad Jamil Ahmad, Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, Chairman of the North West Development Commission (NWDC) Board, and Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, the Speaker reviewed several completed and ongoing projects across the constituency.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Musa Abdullahi Krishi made available to Precise Post on Sunday.
Precise Post recalls that the completed projects inspected included the rehabilitation of Dr. Yahaya Hamza (LGEA) Primary School, a 20-bed capacity Kakiyeyi Primary Health Centre, and the Vocational Training Centre in Nagoyi. The Speaker also visited Phase 1 of Zaria City Market in Amaru.
Ongoing projects in the constituency include the Agoro Bridge, Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka Bridge, Malam Musa Hall at the Zazzau Emir’s Palace, and several others like the College of Nursing, FCE Zaria, and Abba and Nagoyi Bridge constructions.
In addition to the 14 inspected projects, the Speaker highlighted 28 other completed 20-bed and 10-bed Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across various locations, including Gwargwaje Kufena, Kakaki, Rubuchi, and Soba, to name a few. Several completed vocational centres in Igabi, Jema’a, Giwa, and Amaru further emphasize the Speaker’s commitment to community development.
Further demonstrating his commitment to education, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen announced the sponsorship of post-secondary school external examinations for 9,000 students within his constituency. For the 2024/2025 academic session, 4,000 indigent students will be sponsored for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while 2,000 students will be sponsored for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) under WAEC, and another 2,000 for the National Examination Council (NECO) exams.
