Shehu Sani made the revelation in reaction to the bullying of a female student of Lead British International school Gwarimpa, Abuja. Precise Post recalls that the video making rounds on social media shows how Namtira Bwala was slapped repeatedly by fellow student over her refusal to answer inappropriate questions from school relationship. The federal lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly cautioned that normal students must be protected from spoilt ones because parents sent their children for education and moral training and not to slavery. NHRC Boss expresses shock over bullying at British Int’l School, calls for probe, public hearing

ABUJA- The Executive Secretary of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Dr. Tony Ojukwuhas expressed shock over the brutal bullying of Namtira Bwala, a female student of Lead British International School, Gwarinpa Abuja who suffered repeated slaps by fellow students over the refusal to answer inappropriate questions from school relationship. According to the statement signed by the Director, Corporate Affairs and External Linkages, Obinna Nwakonye on Thursday,the alarming incident which has attracted widespread condemnation across the country is a matter of concern that borders on cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, respect for the dignity of the human person as well as learning in a safe and protected environment. Ojukwu while reacting to the ugly incident decried that this shouldn’t have happened in the first place if appropriate measures were put in place for a safe and conducive environment for learning. Ojukwu who expressed shocked by the physical abuse meted out by a student to a fellow student, noted that “bullying has become common in schools and if not checked will discourage some students from attending schools, with its antecedent consequencies, the statement signed by the Director, Corporate Affairs and External Linkages, Obinna Nwakonye said.
