ABUJA FCT – Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has hailed the outgoing European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Samuela Isopi on the successful completion of her diplomatic duties in our country, Nigeria.
Atiku while receiving Isopi who had come to say farewell, said he looks forward to the same kind of astuteness and professionalism in future relationships with the @EUinNigeria.
Announcing the farewell visit on his X account, Atiku said:
“I was delighted to receive the outgoing European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency Samuela Isopi, who had come to say her farewell.”
“I am glad to rejoice with her on the successful completion of diplomatic duties in our country. I look forward to the same kind of astuteness and professionalism in future relationships with the @EUinNigeria.” -AA
Precise Post recalls that Isopi resumed in August 2021 as the new European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
She arrived in Abuja to assume duties as Ambassador on August 31, 2021 and presented her letters of credence to President Muhammadu Buhari on October 25, 2021.
Prior to her resumption in Nigeria, Ms Isopi was the EU Ambassador at the EU Delegation in Bangui, Central African Republic. She had previously served as the ambassador of Italy to Cameroon, with concurrent accreditation to the Central African Republic, Chad and Equatorial Guinea. Previous postings include the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as deputy head of mission and first counsellor.
