Abuja (Precise Post) – The Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Femi Fani-Kayode has urged the federal government to deproscribe Indegenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and negotiate with it’s leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The former minister of Aviation stressed that Nigeria must guard against war at all costs and build bridge of peace, unity and love. He warned that anything less is the road to Kigali and a very long, bloody and frightful 2nd civil war.
Fani-Kayode gave the advice via his twitter handle account in reaction to a statement credited to the leader of the proscribed IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Precise Post recalls that Nnamdi Kanu was quoted as saying that “Our demand for a #referendum is now drawing closer to the point of moving on to urgent considerations of other options to restore #Biafra. Our people are ready. We’ve the means & wherewithal. What remains is the hour – the hour of reclaiming our manifest destiny, unilaterally.”
Fani-Kayode who described Nnamdi Kanu’s comment as chilling and sinister warning, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take Kanu’s words seriously, adding that the ignition of the East with armed struggle when North is on fire and the West is on the boil, will spell doom for Nigeria.
Fani-Kayode tweets reads:
This is a chilling and sinister warning. I know Mazi Nnamdi Kanu well & he does not speak lightly or make empty threats. I advise @MBuhari to take his words seriously. The North is on fire & the West is on the boil. If the East ignites with an armed struggle Nigeria is doomed.
I call on the FG to deproscribe IPOB and enter into negotiations with its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu before it is too late. We must avoid war at all costs & BUILD A BRIDGE of peace, unity & love. Anything less is the road to Kigali & a very long, bloody & frightful 2nd civil war.
