ABUJA (PRECISE POST) – The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission(NHRC), Dr. Tony Ojukwu SAN, OFR today declared open the National Access to Justice Roundtable at the Bukhari Bello Auditorium, emphasizing the need for strategic collaboration to overcome barriers to justice in Nigeria.
In his welcome address, Dr. Ojukwu highlighted the critical importance of access to justice as a fundamental human right, enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution and international human rights treaties.
Despite this, he acknowledged that many Nigerians still face significant challenges in exercising this right, due to issues such as poverty, limited legal awareness, and insufficient access to legal services.
The Executive Secretary was represented by the Director of Economic and Social Rights at the Commission, Mr. Harry Obey.
“This roundtable is a vital opportunity to explore solutions to these challenges,” Dr. Ojukwu said. “However, achieving meaningful progress requires the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders — government agencies, civil society organizations, legal professionals, and community leaders.”

Precise Post recalls that the roundtable, organized by Firma Advisory in partnership in partnership with the NHRC, brought together a diverse range of experts, practitioners, and participants to engage in discussions aimed at improving access to justice in the country.
Dr. Ojukwu expressed his gratitude to Firma Advisory for co-hosting the event and to the speakers and panellists who will contribute to the discussions.
The event marks a significant step toward ensuring that justice is accessible to all Nigerians, a goal that requires concerted and sustained action from all sectors of society.
Dr. Ojukwu concluded his address by declaring the roundtable officially open, urging all attendees to work together in identifying effective strategies to make justice more accessible for every Nigerian.
