…Accuses ADC Campaign Council of Targeting Obi, NDC Ticket

By Clement Nwabuko

ABUJA (PRECISE POST )  –   The Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has ruled out withdrawing from the 2027 presidential race in favour of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that his party’s ticket remains a credible alternative to both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ADC.

Kwankwaso, who made this known in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Sunday, also accused the ADC Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) of directing unnecessary attacks at him, the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and their party.

He urged the ADC campaign team to focus on presenting the credentials of its candidate rather than allegedly creating mischief against the NDC and its presidential ticket.

According to him, the ADC-PCC should instead address what he described as serious allegations levelled against its candidate by Vice-President Kashim Shettima.

Kwankwaso expressed concern that the ADC campaign council might attempt to mislead NDC supporters on the eve of the election by suggesting that his party intended to withdraw from the race in favour of the ADC.

He, however, dismissed such claims, insisting that the NDC would not step down for the ADC or any other political party.
“Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria,” he said.

The former Kano State governor also rejected suggestions that the NDC’s presidential ticket, popularly known as the OK ticket, was working for the APC or any of its candidates.

He described the allegations as unfounded, insisting that there was neither a reason nor any possibility of withdrawing from the presidential contest.

Taking a swipe at the two major political platforms, Kwankwaso declared that the APC-led government had failed Nigerians, while the ADC offered no better alternative.

He maintained that the NDC presented a more credible and viable option, backed by its candidates’ records, competence and support across Northern and Southern Nigeria.

Kwankwaso further described the NDC ticket as a healing platform committed to national unity and addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including insecurity, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare and economic development.

He urged NDC supporters and other Nigerians sympathetic to the party to remain committed to its electoral victory, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects.
“I believe the NDC remains the most formidable and viable opposition party in the country,” he said.
Kwankwaso concluded with the slogan, “Nigeria will be OK.”
