Keane was reacting to Manchester United’s termination of Ronaldo’s contract. He also claimed that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag should have handled Ronaldo’s situation differently. Election 2023: INEC Gives Update, Clarifies Its Stand On Uploading Results On Portal

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said the commission will upload the results of the 2023 general elections on its portal.  He said the move is to enable Nigerians to have a real-time view of the results as they are being collated.  He also said the use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) has come to stay and that there will be no provision for incident form on election day.  Professor Yakubu reiterated INEC’s stance at the National Stakeholders Forum on the 2023 general elections organised by the Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room. FCT Proposed Statutory Budget Of N607bn Scales 2nd Reading In House Of Reps

By Femi Ogunshola Abuja – The bill seeking for an Act to authorise the issue of N607,952,023,580 from the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Statutory Revenue Fund has scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.The proposed budget is for the service of the FCT for the financial year commencing from Jan. 1 and ending on 31 December, 2022.Presenting the Bill for second reading, the House Deputy Majority leader, Rep. Peter Akpatason said out of the amount, N76.6 billion was for personnel costs.He said that N138 billion was for overhead costs while the balance of N393.1 billion was allocated for capital projects.Akpatason said the amount was for the financial year commencing from Jan. 1 and ending on  Dec. 31st 2022.Also, the lawmakers during its committee of the whole, considered and adopted the Senate report for a Bill for an Act to Establish Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS).This is to prevent, combat forest crimes and enhance security within Nigerian Forests.(NAN)

Osun Assembly Passes N138.2bn 2023 Budget 

By Olajide Idowu Osogbo, – Osun House of Assembly passed the state’s Appropriation Bill 2023 of N138.2 billion in Osogbo on Wednesday. It raised the budget estimate by N2 billion when compared with the N136.2 billion estimate sent to it by the Executive arm of government. Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye, explained that the N2 billion increase was for the take-off of Ilesa University carved out of the Osun College of Education in Ilesa. The budget was passed after the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Taiwo Olodo, moved the motion that the budget bill be read for the third time. He said budget was very important and essential for the take-off of a new financial year and added that with the passage, Osun was okay to run government in 2023. FG, States, LGCs Share N736.782bn For October 

By Temitope Ponle Abuja, – The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N736.782 billion to the three tiers of government as Federation Allocation for the month of October. This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Phil Abiamuwe-Mowete, Director (Information/Press), Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning on Wednesday. The N736.782 billion is inclusive of Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Exchange Gain and augmentation from non-oil revenue. The Federal Government received N293.955 billion, the states received N239.512 billion, and the LGCs got N177.086 billion. Meanwhile, the oil producing states received N26.228 billion as derivation (13 per cent of mineral revenue). Police Arraign Man, 36, Over Alleged N2m Fraud

Funmilayo Okunade Ado-Ekiti, – The police in Ekiti on Wednesday arraigned a 36-year-old man, Adeniyi Razaq, before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court over alleged N2 million fraud. The defendant, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a charge of fraud. The police prosecutor, Insp. Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 2, 2020 in Ado-Ekiti. Adeniyi alleged that the defendant obtained the sum of N2 million from the complainant, Dr Olukayode Ajayi, on the pretext of selling 48 acres of land to him. He said that the offence contravened Section 419 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021. The prosecutor urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him study the file and assemble his witnesses. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him. Counsel to the defendant, Mr Tope Kolawole urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail. Supreme Court Rejects Trump’s Lawsuit Stopping IRS From Sending Tax Records to Congress

Attempt by Donald Trump the former US President to stop Congress from obtaining his income tax returns from the IRS has failed.  This comes after the Supreme Cout rejected Trump’s request.  The ruling comes more than three months after a three-judge panel of the federal appeals court in Washington ruled that the Ways and Means Committee had the right to obtain Trump’s tax returns.  Trump then asked the Supreme Court on Oct. 31 to block the committee from obtaining his tax returns.   However on Tuesday, November 22, the Supreme Court rejected a bid by Trump to prevent Congress from obtaining his federal income tax returns and those of related business entities from the IRS.  The decision sets the stage for the Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee to obtain Trump’s tax returns in the weeks before Republicans take majority control of the House and most likely leak it to the press because they can’t carry out any investigation against Trump given that control of the House shifts to Republicans in January 2023.   GOP lawmakers have vowed to end the committee’s …

Speaking at the inauguration of the new banknotes which preceded the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, Buhari explained in detail the basis for his approval to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to redesign the  ₦‎200, ₦‎500 and ₦‎1000 banknotes. According to the president, the new Naira banknotes have been fortified with security features that make them difficult to counterfeit. World-famous English club, Manchester United’s is beginning to make new plans after the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo. The club’s next plan has been revealed after forward Ronaldo’s exit from the club. Man United had on Tuesday night announced that the club had reached an agreement to terminate Ronaldo’s contract with immediate effect.
