Abuja (PRECISE POST) — Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has hinted that a renewed call for transformational leadership and democratic integrity echoed across Abuja on Tuesday at the official launch of the book OBI: The Political Change Agent, written by renowned journalist Ike Abonyi.
Peter Obi, who disclosed this on his X handle said the event, attended by several prominent figures, celebrated not only the literary work but also marked what attendees described as the rebirth of the Obidient Movement; a grassroots coalition of Nigerians committed to building a new, just, and equitable nation.
Author Ike Abonyi, former Group Political Editor of ThisDay Newspapers and founding Deputy Managing Director of New Telegraph, was praised for his insightful chronicling of a political journey defined by values of competence, character, and compassion. The book is seen as both a biography and a manifesto for ethical governance.
According to the former Governor of Anambra State, in a thought-provoking keynote address, Prof. Sam Amadi emphasized the “inevitability of a new Nigeria,” urging citizens to reject apathy and insist on a system that reflects the true will of the people.
Speaking at the event, a key political figure reiterated a message he has long championed: “Our votes must count, and democracy must reflect the will of the people, not the manipulation of a few.” He emphasized that the current political struggle is not rooted in personal ambition but in a vision for a better future — one that prioritizes the welfare of future generations, the integrity of institutions, and national unity.
“Nigeria is at a critical crossroads,” he said. “The fight is about the soul of our nation.”
Attendees left the event with a renewed sense of purpose and belief in the Obidient Movement’s core message — that a new Nigeria is not only necessary, but possible.
A New Nigeria is POssible.
